چکیده
We present results from a search to detect radio emission at 1.4 GHz from gravitationally lensed arcs towards galaxy clusters. Using the FIRST survey observations of galaxy cluster fields, we have clearly detected 1.4 GHz emission at the location of bright arc towards the galaxy cluster Abell 370. The possibility that this emission is associated with a projected galaxy superimposed on the arc cannot be completely ruled out. However, the detection of CO(2-1) line towards this arc by Casoli et al. (1996) and the increase in 1.4 GHz diffuse emission near the arc region strongly suggest a lensed origin for detected radio emission. Gravitational lensing can be used to analyze the redshift distribution of faint galaxies. In particular the magnification bias modifies locally the galaxy number density of lensed sources observed in lensing clusters. This depletion area probes the redshift distribution of galaxies beyond B = 25. In this proceedings I present this new tool to infer the redhsift distribution of faint galaxies.

We review some aspects of radio continuum polarimetric imaging of high redshift radio galaxies. The correlation between extreme values of Faraday rotation observed toward radio emitting structures in nearby radio galaxies, and X-ray emitting cluster atmospheres, is presented as a method for targeting objects at high redshift for deep X-ray searches. We present an X-ray detection of the extreme ...

The high spatial resolution of the MECS experiment on board Beppo-SAX has encouraged a few scientists, including the author, to perform observations of galaxy clusters. Results from the analysis of the first few observed objects are encouraging. After having reviewed the Beppo-SAX observing program for galaxy clusters and referenced contributions to these proceedings by other authors on the sam...

We report the discovery with BeppoSAX-WFC of two new X-ray sources that were only seen during bursts: SAX J1753.5-2349 and SAX J1806.5-2215. For both sources, no steady emission was detected above an upper limit of 5 mCrab (2 to 8 keV) for 3 10 s around the burst events. The single burst detected from SAX J1753.52349 shows spectral softening and a black body color temperature of 2.0 keV. Follow...
